Program Policies, Terms and Privacy

Welcome to Wild Nook! We’re so glad you’re here. Our policies are designed to help keep our program safe, respectful, enjoyable, and running smoothly for everyone.

By registering your child for a Wild Nook program, you acknowledge that you have read, understand, and agree to these policies.

​

These policies apply to all Wild Nook programs unless otherwise noted. Additional program-specific policies or enrollment requirements may also apply.

Participation & Expectations

​

We believe in creating a safe, playful, and respectful space where children can explore, learn, and connect with nature. We ask families to:

​

• Ensure children arrive on time, dressed appropriately for the weather and ready to explore.

• Keep children home when they are sick or unable to comfortably participate in normal outdoor activities.

• Support kind and safe behavior.

• Respect the rhythms, boundaries, and safety expectations of the group and staff.

• Notify Wild Nook of any relevant health, allergy, or safety information that may affect their child's participation.

 

At Wild Nook, we encourage a deep respect for the natural world. Children are guided to treat plants, animals, and outdoor spaces with care—leaving things as we found them, observing gently, and practicing kindness toward all living things.

Payment & Tuition Policy

​

• Tuition is due on the 1st of each month.

• A one-time, non-refundable registration fee is due at sign-up to secure your child's spot.

• Before the school year or session begins, an invoice for the first month's tuition will be sent. Payment enrolls your family in automatic monthly payments for the remainder of the enrollment period.

• Families may opt out of automatic payments at any time by contacting the program director.

• Registration fees are non-refundable unless the class is canceled by Wild Nook.

• Tuition is not prorated or refunded for missed classes, vacations, or other personal absences.

 

Late Payment Policy

​

A $20 late fee will apply if payment has not been received by the 5th of the month.

​

If payment has not been received by the 10th, enrollment may be paused until the account is brought current.

 

Refunds & Withdrawals

​

Registration fees are non-refundable.

​

A 30-day written notice is required to withdraw from the program. Families are responsible for tuition until the end of the 30-day notice period or until their child's spot is filled by another student who begins attending, whichever comes first.

​

No refunds will be given for missed classes or for withdrawing partway through a month.

​

Exceptions may be considered at the discretion of Wild Nook in cases of significant, unforeseen circumstances.

​

Attendance & Missed Days

​

Please notify Wild Nook if your child will be absent.

​

There are no refunds or tuition reductions for absences due to illness, vacations, appointments, or other personal circumstances.

​

Weather & Outdoor Conditions

​

Wild Nook runs rain or shine whenever conditions are safe. Outdoor learning is at the heart of our program!

​

Please send your child with appropriate clothing and weather gear each day.

​

Wild Nook may cancel, relocate, modify, or shorten a class when weather, air quality, park conditions, or other circumstances make it unsafe to meet as planned.

​

There are no refunds or makeup days for typical weather-related absences. If Wild Nook must cancel a class because of severe weather, unsafe conditions, or an emergency, we will communicate with families as soon as possible. When feasible, we may offer an alternative meeting time, location, or home activity.

​

Illness Policy

​

To help keep our community healthy, please keep your child home if they have:

​

• A fever within the past 24 hours

• Vomiting or diarrhea

• A contagious illness

• A contagious rash or unexplained rash

• Significant eye discharge or symptoms of pink eye

• A persistent cough or other symptoms that prevent comfortable participation

• Any illness that makes them unable to comfortably participate in normal outdoor activities

 

Children should be fever-free for at least 24 hours without fever-reducing medication before returning to class.

If a child becomes ill or develops concerning symptoms during class, a parent or authorized adult may be asked to pick them up. Families are responsible for arranging prompt pickup when their child is unable to safely participate.

​

Wild Nook will follow applicable public-health guidance when additional exclusion or return-to-care requirements apply.

Behavior & Safety

​

Wild Nook uses positive, respectful guidance to help children learn to navigate challenges, relationships, and group expectations.

​

Children may occasionally need a break, additional support, or a change in activity. If a child's behavior presents an immediate or ongoing safety concern for themselves, other children, staff, or volunteers, a parent or authorized adult may be asked to pick them up.

​

If significant or repeated safety concerns continue despite reasonable support and intervention, Wild Nook may determine that the program is not an appropriate fit for the child and may end the child's enrollment.

​

Outdoor Safety & Natural Environment

​

Outdoor learning involves experiences and risks that are different from those found in an indoor classroom. Children may encounter uneven or slippery ground, rocks, sticks, roots, insects, wildlife, plants, mud, water, and changing weather conditions.

​

Children are taught to interact with the natural environment respectfully and safely. Wild Nook takes reasonable precautions to reduce risks while recognizing that outdoor exploration includes some inherent risks.

​

Families are responsible for providing appropriate clothing, footwear, sun protection, and other items needed for their child's comfort and participation.

​

Late Pickup

​

Children must be picked up at the scheduled end of their class unless other arrangements have been made with Wild Nook.

​

If you are unexpectedly delayed, please contact the program director as soon as possible.

​

Repeated late pickups may result in additional fees or a review of the child's enrollment.

​

Children may only be released to a parent, guardian, or adult authorized by the family through the enrollment process.

​

Photo & Video Policy

​

During class, we often take photos and videos to capture special moments and document children's experiences at Wild Nook.

 

Photo and video permissions are handled through the registration or enrollment form. Families may choose whether or not to give permission for their child's image to be used in public-facing Wild Nook materials, such as the website, social media, newsletters, or promotional materials.

 

We respect families' choices regarding photo and video use and will make reasonable efforts to follow the permissions provided.

Emergency Medical Consent & Liability

​

Outdoor play and exploration involve inherent risks, including but not limited to uneven terrain, weather, insects, plants, and other natural hazards.

​

By enrolling your child, you acknowledge these inherent risks and agree to follow Wild Nook's safety policies and instructions.

 

You authorize Wild Nook staff to provide basic first aid and to seek emergency medical care for your child when reasonably necessary. Every reasonable effort will be made to contact you or your designated emergency contacts as soon as possible.

Parents and guardians are responsible for providing current emergency contact, health, allergy, and medical information and for notifying Wild Nook of any changes.

 

Any liability provisions or waivers included in the enrollment agreement or required by Wild Nook's insurance coverage are incorporated into the enrollment process.

Required Enrollment Information

​

Enrollment is not complete until all required registration and enrollment forms have been submitted.

​

Families are responsible for providing accurate and current information, including emergency contacts, authorized pickup persons, health and allergy information, and any other documentation required for participation in the program.

​

Families must notify Wild Nook promptly of any changes to this information.

Unsubscribing from marketing communications does not affect important communications related to enrollment, billing, safety, or your child's participation in a Wild Nook program.
