At Wild Nook, summer is more than just keeping children busy — it’s a season rich with opportunities for growth, connection, and wonder.
Why Summer Matters at Wild Nook
Summer offers something children need deeply: time to slow down, follow their curiosity, and experience the joy of simply being a child.
At Wild Nook, children benefit from:
• Unhurried outdoor play that supports emotional regulation and resilience
• Meaningful social connections in a small, nurturing group
• Opportunities to build confidence through exploration and independence
• Sensory-rich experiences that support brain development
• Space for imagination, creativity, and self-directed discovery
Rather than rushing from activity to activity, children settle into a gentle rhythm that allows them to feel calm, capable, and connected.

A Journey of Discovery
At Wild Nook Summer Camp, each week invites children into a new adventure — from uncovering forest secrets and exploring the elements to discovering tiny creatures and expressing their creativity through art.
As the summer unfolds, children grow their confidence, curiosity, and connection to the natural world. Each experience builds on the last, helping campers develop observation skills, resilience, imagination, and a deep sense of belonging outdoors.
Whether your child joins for one week or several, they become part of a meaningful journey of exploration, wonder, and joyful discovery.
Weekly Themes
Week 1
Secrets of the Forest – June 8–11
Explore the hidden wonders of the forest and uncover its magical secrets. Campers discover the forest through hands-on play, imaginative exploration, and secret corners where fairies, trolls, and other forest creatures “might” be hiding. Activities include nature walks, scavenger hunts, and creative projects inspired by woodland magic. Encourages curiosity, storytelling, and noticing the small wonders of the natural world.
Week 2
Campfire Trails – June 22–25
Venture into outdoor adventures with campfire stories, hands-on exploration, and nature play. Campers engage in camping-themed adventures, including trail exploration, pretend campfire storytelling, fishing, and outdoor cooking activities. Activities encourage teamwork, cooperation, and practical outdoor skills. Supports confidence, curiosity, and a love for spending time outdoors.
Week 3
Elements in Motion – July 6–9
Investigate the forces of earth, wind, and water through playful experiments and sensory exploration. Campers get messy, muddy, and wet while discovering how earth, wind, and water shape the world. Activities include experiments with mud and water, exploring wind, and observing how animals use the elements to stay cool in the heat—and seeing if the same tricks work for us! Encourages curiosity, problem-solving, and sensory-rich outdoor discovery.
Week 4
Little Nature Detectives – July 20–23
Explore tiny creatures and secret habitats by land, water, and air—even discovering nocturnal neighbors! Campers become detectives of the natural world, investigating insects, worms, birds, and other garden creatures. Explore habitats that daytime and nighttime animals share, learning how creatures are active at night and during the day. Activities include pond exploration, garden investigation, and imaginative nocturnal-themed play. Supports hands-on observation, curiosity, and understanding how all creatures fit into the natural world.
Week 5
Creative Connections – August 3–6
Bring summer discoveries to life through art, storytelling, and imaginative expression. Campers create messy, sensory-rich art inspired by nature—using mud, leaves, water, and other natural elements. Activities include painting, sculpting, and collaborative projects that turn outdoor discoveries into creative expression. Encourages imagination, self-expression, and celebrating the sights, sounds, and textures of the natural world.
